ABOUT US

C.E.R over the years has strived to achieve its objectives through termly workshops that empower children with capacity to create an adequate Environmental awareness. We have continued to promote afforestation and reafforestation in schools and at our Children's Forest at Prisons Stuff and Training College Ruiru. One of our main projects is the One Child One Tree Afforestation Campaign (OCOTAC) that helps promote a tree planting culture through children. This has happened in various schools in Ruiru, Makueni, Nakuru and Ley Hill Primary School in Birmingham U.K. It enables them to appreciate how valuable trees are as they enhance biodiversity and maintain integrity of the land, combat global warming and reduce our air conditioning costs.

With the great help of our collaborators like NEMA, AFEW, KUCOEP, Ruiru Sub-County we have planted over 30,000 trees in various schools. Our clean Environment activities have taught children the relationship between cleanliness and health, inner and outer personal values. Each year a major clean up is undertaken in collaboration with the County Government to sensitize the society about the need for a clean Environment. Waste management habits enchanted towards reducing the prevalence of environment related diseases and combating Climate change is one of our key drivers to achieving our goals. If done properly it can eliminate waste and minimize the intensity of greenhouse gases. Recycling also helps to reduce the amount of fossil fuels, existing landfills and incineration's thus helping create a cleaner biodiversity for all.

We also teach Income generating activities that alleviate poverty through tree nurseries, briquette making and recycling.A proactive financial plan is the foundation of empowerment and the first step in taking control of ones own destiny. Conservation holds an immense promise for the growth and empowerment of vulnerable people i.e both women and children. We aspire to nurture a morally upright and ethical society free from poverty, tribalism and violence thus our weekly club meetings where we teach our youth on life skills and good vices. To recognize children's  effort, we motivate them through Eco-tours and giving awards. We also participate in competitions and have won numerous awards especially in art and essay writing.

Its our desire to continue working with children and cultivate a culture of appreciating and owning Mother Nature. Its best to focus our efforts on making a legitimate difference in the world by following Eco-friendly practices. Join us as we make this world a better place.
